Our Mission
Create a healing place where men can come with their families to seek out their inner most struggles so that they may strengthen those bonds. We, as people, can never really be at peace and productive members of society until we’ve mended the broken pieces within us. We have to identify past traumas and explore them openly to start to move towards a solution. Us men need to loosen (not let go) our desperate grip on the archaic ideals past generations instilled in us revolving around masculinity and start to incorporate a state of vulnerability. It’s not “tough” or “brave” to be afraid of ones own feelings so much that you aren’t willing to communicate them at all and let them manifest outwardly in a negative way. That’s inconsiderate at best. Having the wherewithal to seek healing so that you can be a better father, partner, role model is not only extremely admirable but (for lack of better words) some REAL man s#*t. Vulnerability does not compromise masculinity!!
Cultivate a fun space where youth can learn the wonders of farming and it’s importance in the worlds infrastructure. Outside of playing with the farm animals and snacking on yummy garden treats, agriculture is a hard sale for kids. It’s a lot of work. That’s why we focus on making things fun. Turning chores into competitions, gardening into science experiments, and projects into money making opportunities.
Steward our land in a manner that is not only sustainable and highly productive but also regenerative so that future generations will inherit something fruitful. As farmer and father it is my responsibility to my daughter and subsequently the world she is going to grow up in to leave it’s environment better than i found it. We don’t just want our land to produce food for as long as we can afford synthetic fertilizers but for as long as people are around to oversee it’s production.
Strengthen our local food system by growing the most nutrient dense food in the most humane way possible and providing it solely to our surrounding community. Buying organic is a good step in the right direction but it just isn’t enough in our opinion. “Organic” by USDA definition is just too vague a term, still utilizes the same highly environmentally invasive transportation system as non-organic, and just isn’t a sustainable model if there is a kink in the chain (e.g. the Covid-19 lockdown of 2020). Buying local reduces impact on environment, peace of mind knowing exactly what’s in your food, and puts your hard earned money directly back into the pockets of your neighbors.
Ultimately; set a reasonable example of how we believe the world can be a better place through natural farming practices and a connected family unit! Farming in natures image produces better tasting nutrient dense food that makes for a healthier human with less health problems. Healing our heart so we can be a better father that is more apt to raise better children that will cultivate a better community in the future.
Farming and Fatherhood come full circle in the pursuit of righting the wrongs in society and making a better world!
